Have fun at the Franklin Holiday Stroll 2013
The 2103 Franklin Holiday Stroll is your chance to enjoy some fun, family-friendly holiday festivities while you shop local small businesses and help the Franklin Food Elves make a difference for families in need this Christmas. The Stroll will be held this Thursday, December 5 from 4 PM to 7 PM in downtown Franklin, MA.
Free holiday fun
The lighting of the community Christmas tree takes place at 4 PM on the Dean College campus. Enjoy live music and free refreshments as you walk the downtown. You can take the little ones to Santa’s Workshop at Rockland Trust and meet Santa himself at Simon’s Furniture. Don’t miss the opportunity to let the kids climb aboard fire trucks at the downtown Franklin Fire Department headquarters. The Franklin Historical Museum will be open for tours.
Shop local to support Franklin small business
Thanksgiving weekend 2013 saw the continuing emergence of “Small Business Saturday” as a nationally recognized day dedicated to supporting small businesses in your local community.
The Franklin Holiday Stroll aims to further that effort this Thursday by inviting you to visit participating businesses in the downtown area. Get some holiday shopping done, score some discount coupons and take advantage of deals at the “Holiday Bazaar” located inside the Depot Plaza building on Main Street next to Acapulco’s.
Red collection bins for the Franklin Food Elves
60+ civic minded middle and high school students in Franklin, MA have formed the Franklin Food Elves in a campaign to help the Franklin Food Pantry. The Elves have designated December 1 – 12 as the “12 Days of Donating” for the Pantry. The group is collecting canned and non-perishable food items at the Holiday Stroll. Please bring your food donations to the Stroll and drop them off at the red collection bins to help this very worthy cause.
