Change of location for Children’s Festival in Franklin, MA this Saturday

The location of the Children’s Festival being held in Franklin, MA on Saturday, May 15, 2010 has been changed to Grant Field on the campus of Dean College. Grant Field is adjacent to the Pieri Gym near 60 School Street, Franklin, Massachusetts.

Construction activity on Dean Campus changes venue for Festival

For safety reasons, Dean recently had fencing erected limiting access to the parts of the campus near the on-going construction of the new Performing Arts Center. Dean administration moved the location of this year’s Festival away from the vicinity of all the construction work.

The annual Children’s Festival conducted by the great folks at the Dean College Children’s Center is well worth a visit. The Festival benefits the wonderful early childhood education program conducted at the Childrens’ Center located on School Street.

Lots of fun for the little ones

The Festival held each spring on the Dean College campus in Franklin, MA is perfect for young children.

The games and activities are especially designed for little ones. Parents and caregivers have a great time watching the kids have fun.

This year there will be live farm animals to visit with, moonwalks, fun crafts and easy games to play.

Refreshments will be available for purchase.

Fun raffle of gift baskets

A highlight each year is the raffle of gift baskets; there are some very creative and fun baskets each year!

Admission is free. Tickets for activities are sold at the Festival.

Dean College Campus

Dean College has an attractive and well-maintained 100 acre campus situated in the center of Franklin, MA.

The Dean College campus lends vitality, character and history to Franklin’s downtown area.

There are approximately 1,200 full-time and 500 part-time students in attendance at Dean each academic year. The student population is augmented by Dean’s faculty and staff. Together, they form an important economic base supporting the shops, restaurants and service business located in Downtown Franklin.

Dean College students add a lot of life and activity to Franklin, MA. Dean students walking to and from classes across Main Street are a fixture in Franklin during the academic year. And seeing parents and prospective Dean students tour the campus and town each year during “Get to Know Dean Days” has become an annual rite of passage.

The Dean College Children’s Center is run by Dean College of Franklin, Massachusetts as part of the its Early Childhood Education Department. Students enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program get experience at the Children’s Center.

The Dean College Children’s Center is located at 144 School Street, Franklin, Massachusetts. (The Center maintains a separate mailing address of 99 Main Street, Franklin.) The Center serves children aged 2.9 to 6 years.

The Dean College Children’s Center is a fully accredited on-campus early childhood program for area preschoolers, ages 2 years 9 months old through 6 years old. The program is designed to encourage maximum development of a child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. Teachers have at least a bachelor’s degree in early childhood or a related field and have extensive experience teaching young children. All staff have earned Department of Early Education and Care Preschool Teacher qualification and some have attained the highest preschool teaching credentials offered by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care, including Preschool Lead Teacher and Director.

The Arts at Dean College

Dean College in Franklin, MA is a private residential college which contributes in so many ways to the quality of life in Franklin.

Dean’s robust programs in dance, music and the theater arts are an important asset to the Franklin, MA community.

Via Dean’s School of the Arts and the Palladino School of Dance , the College offers both A.A. and B.A. degrees in Dance, and A.A. degrees in Theater Arts, Communication Arts, and Musical Theater. There also is a 4 year program leading to a B.A. degree in Arts Management. Dean’s Palladino School of Dance is allied with New York’s celebrated Alvin Ailey American Dance Center. Dance classes are taught in one of four dance studios at Dean.

The talent and resources devoted to the performing arts at Dean, played an important role in the establishment of the Franklin Cultural District. At Dean, there’s a lot of opportunities for the general public to attend quality, professional shows and recitals. Dean sponsors many on-campus productions throughout the academic year. Performances are also put on by the successful Dean Dance Company.
