Highwood I was the first phase of construction at the Highwood condominiums in Franklin, MA. Fifty-nine condo units were built between 1976 and 1979 in this initial phase, which has its own association, called Highwood I.
Living areas range between just under 1,000 sf to just over 1,400 sf. Floor plans include two story townhomes, garden condo units and a number of one-level ranch-style homes. Exteriors are made of brick.

Most homes at Highwood I offer two bedrooms; a few larger units have a third bedroom.
Heating is by electric heat pump; all units have central air conditioning.
No units have basements. Parking is in designated parking areas, with ample guest parking.
Balconies or patios
Most of the units at Highwood I have either balconies or patios. Some of these patios have been enclosed and turned into sunrooms.
