2023 was the eighth straight year that the Highwood Condominiums enjoyed rising home values.
Looking back to the financial panic of 2007 and the ensuing Great Recession, Highwood condo values bottomed in 2011. Since then, the average sale price at Highwood is up a staggering 126%!
Sales volume falls in 2023
Only five homes at Highwood changed hands during 2023, marking the second straight year of a significant decline in sales volume.
The low sales totals in 2022 and 2023 do not signify weak demand for Highwood units. Rather, the decline in sales reflects the pervasive low-inventory housing market in Massachusetts. There has been a general lack of available homes throughout the Bay State for the last several years.
Highest-priced sales at Highwood in 2023
Below are the two highest-priced sales at Highwood for the year just ended.
Unit 121 is in Hghwood III, the most recently-built association in the Highwood condo community. This unit has a renovated kitchen and baths, with updated flooring and fresh paint. Unit 37 is in Highwood I, the only association at Highwood with a brick exterior and a heat pump for hot-air heat and also central air conditioning.
